Peter later turned his focus to higher education and founded Educate America together with the United Student Aid Association, a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit dedicated to helping students navigate college financing and career opportunities. Within three years, the organization grew to more than 25,000 members while hosting over 300 educational seminars each weekend nationwide.

Supporting those initiatives, Peter also created the "Be Your Own Boss" national trade-show series and the National College Mail House, which distributed more than 500,000 pieces of direct mail each week.

Recognizing the growth potential of the wireless communications industry, Peter founded USDigital Development Corporation, doing business as USDigital, where he successfully sold the company's first franchise before opening its first company-owned retail location. The achievement drew praise from Michael Syied, co-author of Franchising for Dummies, who remarked that he had "never seen anything like it."

During the same period, Peter built and operated Smart Card Inc., a New Jersey drug and alcohol testing company.

Alongside his operating ventures, Peter maintained a close business relationship with strategist and negotiator Mark Ehrlich for more than three decades. The two consulted and collaborated across numerous business initiatives, with Ehrlich becoming both a trusted sounding board and a frequent admirer of Peter's strategic judgment. Peter recalls Ehrlich repeatedly characterizing him as one of the sharpest business leaders he had encountered.

Their collaboration also brought Peter into strategic discussions with prominent business and performance leaders. Before a seminar series in Japan, Peter joined Ehrlich and renowned author and speaker Dr. Denis Waitley for an extended telephone brainstorming session. Following the conversation, Ehrlich told Peter that Waitley had described him as having a "brilliant business mind."

Peter also devoted his experience to philanthropic work, serving as President of the Northeast Chapter of Cure Breast Cancer (CBC) from 2005 to 2007 alongside Dr. Ernie Bodai, founder of the Breast Cancer Research Stamp. His work included organizing fundraising initiatives with AFL-CIO-affiliated unions, including golf outings that raised funds and awareness for the cause. Dr. Bodai's advocacy helped bring about the Breast Cancer Research Stamp, issued in 1998 as the first semipostal stamp in U.S. history and ultimately responsible for raising tens of millions of dollars for breast cancer research.

Today, Peter serves as the driving force behind Pax Equitas, where decades of experience in insurance distribution, nonprofit leadership, franchising, technology, and operational systems converge into a unified platform. Pax Equitas brings together artificial intelligence, workflow automation, claims technology, advocacy, governance, and business infrastructure designed to help organizations scale while improving outcomes for the people they serve.

Drawing on more than four decades of building successful enterprises, Peter continues to combine innovation, operational discipline, and leadership development to create systems that help businesses grow while delivering measurable value to the people they serve.
